Hi there! I‘m Lizl, an illustrator and surface pattern designer now calling Zurich home. The Swiss Alps may have replaced the Cape Town beaches, but my heart is still as green as ever.

Growing up in a family of plant lovers and artists, a passion for all things botanical runs deep in my veins. This early influence combines with my formal education - a visual arts university degree specializing in jewelry design, plus extensive training in painting, sculpture, and art history from a young age.

Along the way, I‘ve explored photography (even publishing a book on local creatives), graphic design, and illustration. Today, I create patterns for fabrics while experimenting with watercolor, colored pencil, and linework. After various entrepreneurial ventures—including running online stores for jewelry and textiles — I‘ve found my niche in creating unique patterns that tell stories while serving practical purposes. Each project is an opportunity to combine my love for design with environmental awareness, crafting something both beautiful and responsible.
